Witnesses ; Thomas de la Ryvere, sheriff of Wilts, Thomas de Hungerford, mayor of Salisbury, John Everard, John de Westbury, Henry Russell, Robert de Farendon, Peter Benet and others. Dated at the manor of Wodeford, on Monday after Martinmas, 25 Edward III. For 6s. 8:/. to be paid to the king. 28. Whereas John Wroxhale, deceased, late tenant for life, of the king's grant, of the manor of Purstoke, co. Somerset, with remainders to John son of the said John, Juliana his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, and to the right heirs of the first named John, after the death of the said John gon of John and Juliana without heir of their bodies, granted the manor, which is held of the king by fealty and the service of rendering to him at the exchequer yearly 181. and pair of gilt spurs, to Ralph de Midelneye, Elizabeth, his wife, and his heirs, and they entered therein and are at present holding it without the king's licence; he, for 20s. which Ralph will pay to him, has pardoned the trespasses herein and granted licence for Ralph and Elizabeth to retain the same according to the form of acquisition. And the 20s. have been paid in the hanaper. 1.
