Roger Morteyn and Isabella his wife, in consideration of a fine Carlisle. made by Roger before the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer, for entering without licence a messuage, 11 bovates of land and 12s. in rent in Appelby, sometime of Hugh de Nevill, who held them in chief by serjeanty, and alienated them to William de Luda, late bishop of Bly, after whose death William Tuchet, nephew and heir of that bishop, granted them, in fee simple, to Roger and Isabella, and licence for them to retain the same.
