Ratification to the men of the counties of Cumberland and Westmoreland, of an obligation entered into with them by letters patent of Henry de Percy and Robert de Clifford, late keepers of the king's defence in those parts, which the king has inspected, to wit, that with respect to a foray (equitatus) made by them in the company of the suid Henry and Robert against the Scots, in the 25th year, the latter would procure the king's letters patent under the great seal that the said foray should not be to their prejudice, and should not be drawn into a precedent, and that the king or his heirs should not claim any eervice by reason thereof; and grant that it shall be as stated therein.
