Inspeximus and confirmation of letters patent by John de Brittannia, late the king's lieutenant in the duchy of Aquitaine, dated at Bayonne Friday after St. Bartholomew, 1295, absolving and acquitting Arnald de Moulonges, donsel, at the instance of the noble lords, Amaneuus de Labreto, the said John's particular friend, Peter de Tontolonio and Barravus de Fercars, knights, from the banishment in which he was or was said to be by reason of the death of Peter Mesalha, called Marcelhac of Bouglon (de Blogonto) in the diocese of Bazas ( Usatensts) whether this banishment or judgment of banishment was pronounced by the seneschal of Gaecony or the provost or any other bailiff whatever; on condition that he answer as he ought all persons complaining touching the said death according to the courts (foros) and customs of Bazas. Admission of Arnald de Pugoliis, prior of Pontons, in the diocese of Dax, as a king's chaplain.
