Signification to R. archbishop of Canterbury, his suffragans, and all other prelates and others, of the appointment of Hugh de Jeremutha, king's clerk, as the king's proctor, to make, in the name of the king's ministers and adherents, fresh citations and appeals at the apostolic see, in order to prevent the said archbishop and others from making any promulgations prejudicial to the king and the realm, which, as the king hears, by virtue of a constitution of the Holy See, they propose to do, notwithstanding the uecessity in which the realm is placed and vther causes by which such a proceeding cannot be justified, and also notwithstanding former citations and appeals at the apostolic see, when, at their former convocution, it u 2 appearing that they might make ordinances to the prejudice of the realm, the king appointed Iterius de Ingoliema, king's clerk, as bis proctor there, to prevent them collectively or individually from attempting anything by their name, authority or mandate, to the prejudice of the king or the realm.
