The like to Richard de Kelleshull, William de Kerdeston, John de Berneye and Roger Virly, on complaint by William, bishop of Norwich, that, whereas the king lately took him and his into his special protection, John de Hales and others, when the bishop was on the king's service at Calais to treat with others of the last truce between the king and his adversaries of France and so under protection, assaulted Master Thomas de Morle, whom he had appointed as his commissary general in his absence, at Hadesco, while the same Thomas wag in the exercise of his office and holding a chapter there, and others of the bishop's servants, tore and carried away the rolls and memoranda of the bishop relating to the office, and publicly threatened to kill them if they made execution against them for this cause, whereby the commissary could not and dared not do the duties of his office, and the bishop wholly lost the profit that would have come to him of the corrections made by the commissary and the service,of the same men and servants for a great time.
