Parr III. 271 knights, William Thirnyng, Richard Sydenham, Thomas de Hungerford, knight, Philip de Tilney, knight, and Thomas de Pynchebek, on complaint by the dean and chapter of St. Mary's, Lincoln, that Simon (Semannus) Laxfeld, mayor of Lincoln, John Siklyng and John Boston, bailiffs of Lincoln, Ralph de Sutton, John de Hedon, Robert Fuystour, Ralph de Scremby, Robert Lavender, John de Netilham, John de Carleton, Walter de Faldyngworth, John Norman, Simon de Messyngham, Robert de Ledes, William de Dalderby, Robert de Messyngham, Robert de Salteby, William de Barkworth, Henry de Harewode, sadeler, John de Hertesholm, bocher, Gilbert de Kyme, littester, John de Wikford and John de Thorley with other evildoers, conspiring to subject the dean and chapter, their ministers, servants and tenants of the close round their church to the jurisdiction of the mayor and bailiffs, broke their said close and took divers sums of money levied by their ministers for wares exposed for sale by merchants, for fines in pleas in their court called le Galilee, which they have from time immemorial held, and compelled their said ministers to appear before them, the mayor and bailiffs, in the Gildhall, in respect of contracts, both those arising within the said close (whereof the dean and chapter had sole cognisance) and those arising in the city, and levied fines therefor, to the said dean and chapter s loss of 1,000/. For 40s. paid in the hanaper.
