Inspeximus and confirmation, notwithstanding that the lands and tenements therein mentioned are held in chief, of letters (in French) dated at Danby, 26 November, 12 Richard II, which Elizabeth, late the wife of John de Nevill, lord of Raby, caused to be made in her widowhood, granting to her esquire Thomas de Etton, for life, the office of master forester of her forest of Danby, co. York, and of all her parks, woods and warrens in that county, receiving 10 marks a year for his fee from her lordship of Danby, with covenants of re-entry and distress if the said payment be forty days in arrear and power to appoint and remove foresters and parkers, warreners, pinders and haywards, to take and give courses de lerers et trestes des arkes to whom he will for the venison of the said forest, parks, woods and warrens, to fish therein and to take to his own use and give to his friends hares, coneys, pheasants, partridges, larks and all other beasts and birds of warren therein. For 5 marks paid in the hanaper.
