Notification that the king orders that the value of the jewel which, in accordance with the award of certain notable persons, communicated to the king at Havering manor by John Clanvowe and Nicholas de Sharnesfeld knights of his chamber, chosen by both parties to compromise the dispute between Walter, bishop of Durham, and William Lescrop, knight, the latter should, for certain trespasses done by him and his people in the bishopric of Durham, offer as penance, the value to be determined by the king, at the shrine of St. Cuthbert in Durham, is to be not less than 5001.
