Whereas by collusion between the collectors and controllers of customs of and merchants exporting wool and other merchandise liable to custom, fraud and deceit in the collection of custome and the weighing of wool occur daily in divers ports of the realm, the king has appointed Thomas de Fencotes in the port of Boston to supervise the shipping of wool, hides, wool-fells and other things, and also the doings of the controller and collectors of customs and the weighers in that port.
