Grant, for life, to John de Swyneburn of the manor of Grendon, within the liberty of Tyndale, except the king's lake belonging to it. By ps. 16. Whereas the king, at the instance of P. cardinal bishop of Sabina, respited to B. archbishop of Rouen, until a year after Whitsunday, the fealty he is bound to do for the lands which he holds in England, and which by the death of his predecessor were taken into the king's hands, and commanded Richard Oysel, escheator this side Trent, to deliver all the lands which he had so taken into the king's hands to Geoffrey Columbel, clerk and attorney of the said archbishop, to keep until the latter does his fealty ; and the escheator has signified that he cannot execute the mandate because under pretext of a writ, he delivered the said lands to Master John Feroun, to hold, during pleasure, at a rent of 50 marks, as appears by a copy of the writ sent herewith ; therefore the king commands the said Master John to deliver the same to the said Geoffrey according to the form of the said mandate.
