Inspeximus and confirmation of a chirograph, dated Thursday before the Annunciation, 33 Edward I., between Robert son of Walter lord of Wodeham and John Butetourte, whereby the former wills that Robert his son shall marry Joan daughter of the latter, and will enfeoff Adam de Waldyngefeld, son of Simpling, of the manor of Shering, co. Essex, for him to re-grant for life to the said Robert lord of Wodeham, on condition that if Robert the son die in his father's lifetime Joan shall enter the same and hold it for life, saving the goods found therein in lieu of dower from any other lands; and if Robert the son survive his father, the said manor shall remain to them in tail; with remainder to the right heirs of Robert the father.
