Commission of oyer and terminer to Walter de Gloucestre, Roger de Suthcote and John de Foxleye, on complaint by brother John Crispyn, keeper of the hospital of St. Giles without London, that whereas the hospital is of the king's patronage and exempt from the jurisdiction of the ordinary so that no ordinaries may exercise their office of visitation or other jurisdiction, and have never done so, yet some malefactors broke the locks of the gates of the hospital at the coming there of Robert, archbishop of Canterbury, and opened the gates for him to exercise the office of visitation, and carried away some papal letters, charters, writings and muniments, as well privileges as others touching the rights and possessions of the hospital; the jury to be of the county of Middlesex.
