Licence for Robert de Clyfford to make a trench, 160 feet wide, running round his wood of Wyntreslowe, which is within the metes of the forest of Clarendon, and to sell the wood which he cuts down in making it, as it appears by inquisition made by Hugh le Despenser, justice of the forest this side Trent, that the only loss would be that the repair of the deer there would be diminished. Power to Richard Oysel and Ralph de Lellay, heretofore appointed, to enquire touching malefactors in the king's free warren at Brustwyk, Preston, Kayngham, Little Humbre, Burton Pydese, Skipse, Esington, Skeftling, Kilnese, and Wythornese; persons who hunted in the parks of Brustwyk and Sprotle, fished in the stews of Brustwyk and the fisheries of Lomwath, Skipse, Burton Pydese, and Wythornese, and carried away hares and rabbits from the said warren, deer from the said park, and fish from the said stews and fisheries, to receive ransoms made at the discretion of Philip de Wylghby, chancellor, and John de Insula, one of the barons, of the Excheyuer, and of themselves, from person convicted, or to be convicted, of such trespasses, to levy the same, and answer therefor at the exchequer, and to deliver from gaol, after first receiving ransoms, such persons as have been condemned to gaol for such offences.
