Ratification of a letter sealed by Henry de Lacy, earl of Lincoln, at the time that he was the king's lieutenant in the duchy [of Aquitaine], the seal whereof has been accidentally broken, dated Bayonne, 24 March 1297, whereby he appointed John Russel, knight, to the custody, during the king's pleasure, of the places de Doazito and de Brassenco Podio, to hold with all their rents for the maintenance of the said John's wife and household over and above his wages.
