Letters patent dated 21 May, 22 Richard II, granting licence for William Dalby of Exton to found at Okeham a hospital of two chaplains and twelve poor men and to grant the advowson of the hospital to the prior and convent of St. Anne of the Carthusian order by Coventre, and for these to grant in mortmain 40l. yearly rent to the warden of the hospital. An indenture tripartite dated in the chapter-house of the said priory, 26 October, 6 Henry IV, witnessing that Robert Palmer, the prior, and the convent, for 577 marks paid to them by William Dalby of Okeham, founder of the hospital of St. John the Evangelist and St. Anne, Okeham, have granted in mortmain to Simon Thorpe, warden of the hospital, a yearly rent of 20/1. with power of distraint on their lands of Ediweston, co. Rutland, and a payment of 100s. each time the rent is one month in arrear. For 40s. paid in the hanaper.
