Appointment, during good behaviour, of the king's clerk Henry- Merston as clerk of the works at the palace of Westminster, the Tower of London, the castles of Berkamstede, Walyngford, Vise, Ledes, Rokyngham, Notyngham, Odiam, the manors of Kenyngton, Eltham, Claryngton, Shene, Sutton, Biflete, Childernelangley, Wodestok, Ksthamstede, Haveryng atte Boure, Henley on le Heth, Cosham, Bekkele, Clippeston, Istelwode, the lodge of Beckeswode and the lodge of Hathebergh of the New Forest, and for the works of the lodges, gardens, stanks, mills and houses and enclosures of parks pertaining to them, with power to take stone-cutters, carpenters and other workmen and labourers and stone, timber, tiles, shingles, glass, iron, lead and other necessaries, to make payments by the supervision of the controller of the said works, to arrest and imprison all who depart without licence and to sell boughs, bark and other residues of trees.
