Grant to Roger Ive, master or warden of the chantry of St. Mary Magdalen in the field called Batailfeld by Shrewsbury, and to the chaplains and other ministers thereof, of the executions of all writs within the precinct of the chantry and the manors of Adbryghton Husy and the town of Harlescote within the precinct and other their possessions ; on their shewing that they cannot occupy themselves with the divine services of the chantry, which was founded by Henry IV for the souls of certain persons who were slain in a battle in the said field fought between him and Henry Percy, whereof about 8,000 lie buried there, and their servants and tenants cannot go about the business of the said master, chaplains and ministers within the precinct because they are vexed by the king's bailiffs, justices of the peace, justices of assize, the steward and marshal of the household, the sheriff, escheator and coroners and other ministers of the county as well by arrest of their bodies as by undue fines, ransoms, amercements and distraints, whereby they are impoverished.
