Mandate to the dean and chapter of the free chapel of St. Mary within Hastynges castle to admit John Bury, chaplain, to the prebend of Brighlyng in the said chapel, void by the death of William Gosberkirk, whereto he has been admitted by Richard, bishop of Chichester. 8. Whereas William Halywell of Calais, merchant, alias William Yonge, hrokour, who has long kept a public house or inn there for aliens and natives without slander or reproach of any man, till of late Hankyn Brunyng, a prisoner in his keeping, maliciously impeached him of having clipped certain English coins found by the said Hankyn in a common chamber set apart for the lodging of guests, which. he swept at the said William's command, whereby William was taken and imprisoned, but was. afterwards admitted to bail; the king has pardoned the said William all such offence and any consequent outlawry.
