Commission of oyer and terminer to John de Clynton, John Cavendissh, William Trussell, Roger de Kirketon, Walter de Cokesey, William Flamvill, John Holt and William de Burgh, on complaint by the king's widow, Juliana late the wife of Richard Vernon, chivaler, who lately, for certain lawful and honourable causes, made a vow of chastity before Robert, bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, and chose the mantle and ring as is the custom there, that whereas she came by the king's writ to Westminster for certain arduous matters touching the king, and when the business was finished wished to return to her own parts with the king's licence, William Bagot, Thomas Maundevill and others, armed and in array of war, assaulted, wounded and imprisoned her at Potterspirie, co. Northampton, took her thence to the castle of Warrewyk, detained her long in prison there, took away her goods at Potterspirie, and assaulted and wounded her men and servants. For 1 mark paid in the hanaper.
