for 24 marks paid to the king by the prior of St. Mary's, for him and his convent to appropriate the church of with the chapel of Haileweston annexed thereto; as it has found by an inquisition made by John Parker of Olneye, escheator county of Huntingdon, that this can be done without damage to the king or others. it was found by an inquisition lately taken before William and Henry Percehay, then justices of assize in the county of that Thomas Bartour, Adam atte Seler, Richard Gay, Smyth, servant of Stephen Fourbour, Hugh Stafford, servant Sprot, John Fanford, Roger Rothele, John Baker and William who were detained for divers felonies in the prison of Yevelin the keeping of Roger Peres, then keeper of the gaol there, the prison on Sunday after the feast of St. Margaret the Virgin the king's forty-eighth year, without the assent of the keeper or other, but of their own imagination, and that Roger Peres held time the keeping of the gaol for six years of the grant of Ralph keeper thereof for life of the king's grant, and was bound to the said Ralph, his master, and keep him indemnified towards king by reason of the said keeping, and that he had chattels to value of 40 marks; the king has pardoned Ralph and Roger pertains to him beyond the sum of 40 marks for the said and wills that he be answered of the said sum from the chattels Roger on account of his negligence in the matter.
