The like of Laurence de Sancto Martino, Humphrey Stafford, Philip Fitz Waryn, Michael Skillyng, John Upton of Salisbury, Geoffrey Pulton, John Cole of Wylton. and the sheriff of Wilts, on complaint by Master John Blaunchard, who in a recent suit against the king and Alan Buxhull, keeper of the forest of Grovele, recovered seisin of the bailiwick of keeping the forest by a single foot soldier, as appurtenant to a messuage in Bereford Seint Martin, that, although the king sent writs to Alan commanding him to give the said John livery and seisin, and he has transmitted them to his verderers, foresters, rangers and such as supply their places, still the latter by threats prevent him from executing the office and enjoying the profits, to enquire into the circumstances, arrest offenders, and return their inquisitions into Chancery. 10.
