The like, in favour of Richard Hampton, esquire of the king, of letters (in French), of the king when prince, dated (1), Kennington manor, 15 February, 51 Edward JII., being a grant to him, for life, of the of Tyntagel Castle, with 10 marks yearly and the pasture within same, without payment ; (2) of even date, being a like grant to him the office of havenor in Cornwall and Devon, with power to take wines of prise (des vins de prise) with the fee of 6 marks yearly, and also of the office of pesage of tin in the duchy of Cornwall and the custody of Lostwithiel gaol, as Walter Bray had them; (3) Berkhamstede castle, 15 March, 51 Edward III., being a grant to him, for life, of 20 marks out the said duchy on his surrender of the grant made to him by the king's dated 8 June, 47 Edward III., of the like annuity out of the issues the town of Middlewich, which has been granted in dower to the king's By the Great Council.
