Licence for the alienation in mortmain by Stephen de Graveshende, bishop of London, in part satisfaction of the licence granted by letters patent for him to alienate land to the value of 18l. a year for the maintenance of the ministers of the church of St. Paul, London, and for obits, &c., of 140 acres of land in Plumbergh, co. Essex, held of the said bishop, of the value of 46s. 8d. yearly, as appears by inquisition made by John de Blomvill, escheator in the counties of Essex, &c., to the abbot and convent . Parr 2. 267 St. Osyth s, to find two chaplains to celebrate divine service daily in the church of St. Paul, for the good estate of the king and his children, his soul when he is dead and for the souls of his progenitors, kings of and of Richard de Gravesende, uncle of the said Stephen, and the soul of the said Stephen when he is dead, and the souls of the departed.
