Inspeximus and confirmation (1) of a charter dated at Bermundeseye, before St. Gregory the Pope, 1821, 15 Edward II, whereby prior of St. Saviour's, Bermundeseye, and the convent of that house to Nicholas de Tunstal a corrody there for life, viz. a white loaf (unum album monialem) of the price of 1d., a brown loaf (unwm panem bissum) the price of jd., a gallon of ale (cervisie monialis) of the price of 1d., a alf a gallon of second ale of the price of 4d., from the cellar of 2 dishes of meat every day on the four flesh days every week, the price of 13d. a day, from the kitchen, and for the other three days or other things, as one of the monks, of the price of 14d., and every 2 dishes of pottage, of the price of 4d. from the kitchen, and every year robe of fur of the suit of their clerks or esquires, as he pleases, of the of 20s., to be received yearly at Christmas; also a house within close of Bermundeseye to dwell in, with a place of the court near the said house and the wall of John le Mazeliner, the kitchen and the brewhouse, 66 feet long by 20 feet broad each end, and a stank with a curtilage between the said brewhouse and new garden, whereof one end abuts on the lane leading to the granges the other on the high way leading to Retherheth, with free ingress and whenever he chooses ; also every year 4 cart loads of wood, and two of to be carried at their expense to his house ; also two acres of meadow their meadow under Danieleswalle for the maintenance of his horses, as is enclosed with ditches ; to hold to him for life, and to carry, take away assign, wherever, whenever, and to whomsoever he will, as well without said house of Bermundeseye as within it. And they and their may pay the said corrody or the above price as they prefer. (2) A charter dated at Bermundeseye in the full chapter Friday the of St. Barnabas, 1322, 15 Edward II, whereby the said Peter and the grant to the said Nicholas for life a part of the new garden with the trees and other trees in it lying between the court of the said Nicholas on one side and the said new garden on the other, of the length of 264 perches, whereof one end abuts on the lane leading from their court to their granges and is of the width of 2 perches, and the other end abuts on the high way leading to Retherheth of the width of 34 perches, with its vines (vinis sic), hedges and ditches, free ingress and egress and all other appurtenances.
