Mandate to the justiciary of Ireland, with respect to cathedral, conventual and collegiate churches in Ireland of the king's patronage, that he is henceforth not to give the royal assent to elections, take fealties from or restore the temporalities to the elect in the king's name without special mandate, as the king wills that licence to elect shall be sought of him before election, and the royal assent shall be given by him and no other, and that the elect, when they have obtained confirmation, shall come to the king to do their fealty for the restitution of their temporalities, unless the king grant them his special grace, which he intends shall be granted as it used to be in the times of his progenitors; with mandate to the chancellor of Ireland to make no letters under the seal of Ireland of licence to elect, royal assent, taking of fealty or restitution of temporalities without the king's special mandate to him under the great seal of England.
