in consideration of a fine made by John de Louthre, of the committed in making the following settlement of the manor of without the king's licence, with restitution of the manor and grant the settlement may hold good; John de Haulton granted in free simple John de Louthre, king's clerk, the manor of Haulton held in chief, 11 messuages, 17 tofts, 276 acres of land and 89 acres of meadow, afterwards the said John de Louthre granted the manor except as excepted for life to John de Haulton, with remainders in tail as to one moiety thereof to Robert de Louthre and Eleanor his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, and failing such issue to Thomas de Louthre and Margaret his wife, and the heirs of their bodies ; with remainder to the right heirs of the said John de Haulton ; and as to the other moiety, with remainders in tail to Thomas de Louthre and Margaret his wife, to Robert de Louthre and Eleanor his wife, and to the right heirs of John de Haulton, which said manor, except as before excepted, was for such trespass taken into the king's hands. By fine of 50 marks.
