Inspeximus and confirmation of bishop Stapeldon s ordinance, dated February, 1322-3, for the anniversaries of his birth and obit; viz. after consultation with the dean and chapter of the tithe of the arising from three yearly fairs held at Criditone, two of which fairs he from the king in favour of the said precentor, canons, vicars and ministers of the collegiate church of Criditone ; on condition that on Purification one mass of the Holy Ghost is to be celebrated in the church of Cridinton for his good estate with certain collects and his death his anniversary is also to be celebrated. After every the said pleas thereof being finished, and the said tithe being received, steward of the bishop for the time being shall deliver the said to the precentor and two elected vicars, who shall keep it until said mass or anniversary and distribute it as follows, viz. to the and sacristan present at the said mass or anniversary 6d. each, to sprinklers of holy water 1d. each, and the rest in equal portions to the whose small portions in other things the said bishop wishes to aug- ([Stapeldon s Register, pp. 877, 878; Oliver s Monasticon, Ezon. 86, 87.]
