Permission for Thomas de Egremond to grant his licence, without prejudice to his bond, to the under-mentioned alienation in mortmain, viz. the king had granted a licence for the alienation in mortmain by Master John de Haryngton, clerk, to the dean and chapter of the church of St. Mary, Lincoln, to find a chaplain to celebrate divine service daily in the parish church of Haryngton for the soul of the said John and the souls of his ancestors and of all Christians, of 8 messuages, 8 bovates of land and common of pasture for 800 sheep in Haryngton and Aswardby by Partenay, which messuages, land and common are held direct of the said Thomas de Egremond, who is unable to grant his licence thereto by reason of his having in May in the tenth year of the king's reign entered into a recognizance for 10,0002. as a security that he would not alienate any lands or tenements in his possession at the date of the recognizance, or which should revert or descend to him, from John his first-born son, unless he should receive the king's licence to do so.
