By fine of 40s. at the instance of Roger de Northburgh. of the following grants in mortmain to the burgesses of for the lodging of the Friars Minors dwelling there, viz. by the Miller (molendinarius) of Scardeburgh of land in the old of Scardeburgh, abutting on the cemetery of St. Sepulchre and the called Damyet, all the land abutting on the lands formerly of Uchtred and Walter de Collum and the land formerly of John de and land abutting on the land formerly of Henry de Roston ; grant by Robert Uchtred, knight, of all the land in the burgh on the well called Burghwell and the wall of the old town and tne called Damyeth ; a grant by John Hudred, knight, of 20s. of rent out of his two tenements in Scardeburgh, viz. 10s. from land lying the land late of Simon de Roston and the land of Gilbert de and 10s. rent from land abutting on the sea to the town wall, late Haldan, to find two great wax candles burning daily at the elevaof the Host in the choir of the said brethren, and to find oil in a lamp before the Host in the same choir, and bread and wine for celebrain the church and choir, with power for the bailiff of Scardeburgh to for the rent if unpaid; a grant by Simon son of Simon Ginner of of a messuage in the old burgh for the use of the friars, which on the lands of Margaret de Humberstan and William de Harum; of a grant by William de Tothale, sometime prior of the Hospital of of Jerusalem in England, made with the consent of the brethren entire chapter, of a messuage in Scardeburgh abutting on the land of le Blake, which William de Harum holds, and upon the way called By K.
