Commission of oyer and terminer to John de Foxle, John de Batesford and John de Fresyngfeld, on complaint by James de Galdouches that when he for divers causes was delivered into the gaol of Neugate, and was handed over by Richard de Honewyk, then keeper of the gaol, to John le Parker his serjeant, to be kept there, although the complainant ought not to have been placed in the depth of the gaol as a felon or thief, nevertheless the said John le Parker, for the purpose of extorting money from him, piaced him in the depth of the gaol and detained him there horribly laden with iron fetters (vectibus ferreis horribiliter oneratum), together with notorious felons and thieves, until the plaintiff, induced by fear of death, bound himself by his letters sealed with his seal in the sum of 60J. to be paid to the said John le Parker at aterm now passed; that immediately on the expiration of that term John le Parker procured distraints to be made in the city of London, by the sheriffs of that city, upon all his goods found there to levy the said sum of 60/. off his goods, and that he ceases not to harass ne Fi y C.
