Panel of the jury summoned for Friday in Easter week at Cukewald. : die Mercurii in septimana Pasche anno alix. quidam Robertus depredavit averia abbatis de Kirkestal.] Inquisition taken at York before Richard de Midelton Monday the morrow Low Sunday (clausi Pasche) 49 Henry III [13 April 1265] : On Wednesday Easter week 48 Henry III [23 April 1264] a common robber (depredaior) Robert Cariman with a multitude of evildoers went to the abbey of for the purpose of carrying off the abbot's cattle, in the time of war, and Gilbert Palfreyman, Thomas le Mouner and others of the abbot's went out to rescue the cattle. Gilbert shot an arrow at Robert, his comrade Thomas accidentally got in the way, and was hit in the back, instantly of the wound. Gilbert was not shooting at Thomas and C. Ing. Misc. File 11.
