Writ to Richard Oysel, escheator north of Trent, to inquire as to value of certain properties, of which Roger de Wilton of Bogheneys petitioned for a grant in consideration of his services with Duncan Macduel Scotland. Lanrecost. 24 February. [1307.] By petition of the Council. Inquisition : Carlisle. 3 March. Thomas de Leveresdale held certain lands in Camboc of Thomas de Multon Gillesland, as of his barony of Gillesland, by homage, ward and relief. While said Thomas de Multon was under age and in the king's ward the said de Leveresdale died and the sub-escheator, of Cumberland seized lands into the king's hand, his heir being a minor ; they are of the yearly of 35s.; the heir is over 18 years old, and his marriage could hardly sold for a mark. William de Wartholl held lands in Wartholl of Hubert de Multon as of the of Ishale, which was taken into the king's hand on the said Hubert s because he held it of the said Thomas de Multon. Two-thirds of the so held by the said Hubert are in the king's hand, and are of the yearly of 18s. 10d.; John, son and heir of the said William, is over 16 years and his marriage could hardly be sold for a mark.
