Commission to John de Swyneburn, Robert Herun, and Thomas Shefeld. Carlisle. 28 March 35 Edward I. [1307.] Inquisition : Twedemuth. Wednesday before St. Mark. The bishop of Durham has caused a moiety of the profit of the passage of to be collected and applied to his own use to the prejudice of the king, of John le Hayward, since Easter 26 Edward I. In the first year he 24 marks, in the second, third, and fourth, 40 marks each year, in the years 201. each year. The bailiffs of the said bishops, of Norham, demised the said moiety to farm, the farmers paid their farm at the Exchequer of Norham. Copy of the foregoing writ and inquisition made at a later date.
