Writ to Reynold de Grey, justice of Chester. Worcester. 22 Edward I. [1294.] : Chester. Tuesday the feast of St. Matthew. second day of St. Agnes, A.D. 1293, John de Baruue, chaplain, ill at Great Baruue, and there on that day before Hugh, reeve of Thomas son of William Forester, Richard son of Adam the reeve, de Baruue, chaplain, gave to the friars minors of Chester all the he had on deposit in the house of the said friars, to find a chaplain for his soul for ever, and to assist them to pay their debts and necessities, and appointed the said Ralph de Baraue his proctor the said money to the said uses, and committed to him its and a chest in which it was deposited ; and so the money remained of the said Ralph until Sunday after the octave of St. John 22 Edward I, when Master Gilbert de Arderne, king's clerk, caused found in the said chest to be arrested, and afterwards sent it to the at Westminster. John gave the said money to the said friars aboslutely, so that remain to them whether he lived or died. C. Ing. Misc. File 54. (42.) Writ to Richard de Brimesgrave. Winchester. 24 August I.
