Writ to Malcolm de Harle, escheator south of Trent. Westminster. October 22 Edward I. [1294.] Inquisition : Stratford. 17 October. Adam de Cretyngge by Adam de Foleham, his attorney, and. by livery of sheriff of Essex, had seisin on Thursday in the feast of the Nativity of John the Baptist last past of the lands late of Philip Burnel in Esthammes, at 391. 7s. ; the said Adam de Foleham took the fealty of the tenants 2s. of rent in the name of seisin ; the said Philip died on the Saturday ; the said Adam recovered [from the said Philip] a debt of 1204. 20 pence, before the steward and marshal, and damages to the amount 40 marks ; the goods of the said Philip were appraised at 1921.
