Tuesday after St. James. son of Sarah, is in the prison of the bishop of London, and had 18 acres of land, and 3 acres of wood in Creshale. sheriff of Essex delivered the tenements to Richard de Kelleshill, so should answer the king for the year and day and the mean time. said Thomas held an acre of land of Richard de Walington and a of Ralph Clerk in Creshale, and the residue of William Basset. said two messuages are of the yearly value of 2s., and every acre of and every acre of wood 12d. Tuesday after the Translation of St. Thomas de Stokeley, parson of Kirckelevington, was having two carts horses laden with sheaves of oats, by estimation 12 thraves, driven grange in West Levington to his manor in Kirckelevington on Saturday St. Mark, William le Serjant of Kirckelevington, John Gos of the same, his brother, and William Notehacke, with others unknown, came the carts and drove them to the manor of Sir Richard de Kirckebride and kept them until the morrow, when they were delivered king's bailiff; John Gos and others beat the said parson with clubs drawn sword.
