Writ to Thomas de Normanvill. Witness, Edmund, earl of Westminster. 17 May 15 Edward I. [1287.] Inquisition : Hedon. Thursday before St. Luke. Simon de Ver long since enfeoffed Robert Gilt of Hedon of 9 bovates and parts of a bovate of land in the manor of Sprottele for a yearly rent of a and 3 clove-gilliflowers (clavos gariofili). Afterwards the said Simon sold Roger Darey the said manor, for which he was wont to do one suit to the of Holderness, now in the king's hand; the said Roger did the suit all his time ; he sold the manor to the king. The said Robert Gilt enfeoffed Hugh his son of the said Jand.
