Writ to William de Northho, sheriff and escheator of Surrey. 12 July 17 Edward III. [1343.] By writ of p.s. Inquisition : Kyngeston-on-Thames. 23 July. It is to the yearly damage of the king and the town of Kyngeston of 10s. he grants to William Veirdire, yeoman of the chamber of Queen Philippa, life a tenement called Leholdespetel in Kyngeston, where was a house of in the king's hand, the lepers having totally relinquished it and pulled the buildings ; the place contains 20 acres of land ; the house of lepers founded by divers men of Kyngeston and not by the king or his ancestors.
