[1325.] : Hockelee. 29 August. de Chaunceuxs acquired from Henry de Gynges a messuage, 80 acres 3 acres of meadow, and 60 acres of pasture marsh in Hockelee (held abbess of Berkingge by homage and fealty and suit of her court of by fine in the king's court, for which the said Giles granted the to the said Henry and Isabel his wife for their lives with reversion and his heirs. Giles died in the lifetime of the said Henry and Isabel, after whose reversion belonged to John his brother and heir. said Henry died in the lifetime of the said John, after whose death Isabel granted the tenements for her lifetime to John de Chaunceuxs his wife for a yearly payment of 9 marks. said Johr died in the lifetime of the said Isabel, after whose death John Waleweyn, then escheator, took the tenements into the king's the said John de Chaunceuxs held the manor of Canewedon in chief of the honour of Reylee, and held the same until the said brought him the king's writ to remove his hands therefrom, and the tenements to her. held them for the lifetime of the said Isabel, who died at Whitsun II, after whose death the abbess of Berkingge as chief lady of seized the tenements into her hands, and has held them until now of the minority of Hugh, son and heir of John de Chaunceuxs, to reversion belongs. tenements are of the yearly value of 40s. to the said John de Blumvill.
