Commitment to John Rypon, by mainprise of Thomas Pope of Farnam, co. Berks, esquire, and Edmund Clere of Castyr, esquire, of the keeping of 2 cottages with a garden annexed, in Martelane within the city of London, which are in the king's hand by the death of John Ascowe, esquire, to whom they were granted by Henry IV by letters patent, for life, the reversion pertaining to the king and his heirs; to hold the same from Easter next for 7 years, rendering therefor 13s. 4d. yearly at Michaelmas and Easter equally, and maintaining all charges incumbent on the premises; with proviso that if any other person shall be willing without fraud to give more by way of increment for the said keeping, then the said John Rypon shall be bound to pay such larger sum if he will have the keeping.
