Commitment to Roger Bothe, by mainprise of Nicholas Clayton of the county of Lancaster, gentilman , and John Rate of the same county, gentilman , of the keeping of the manor of Whikeleswyk, co. Lancaster, late of Geoffrey de Bolde, deceased, which was forfeited to Henry IV since the said Geoffrey lately rose in the company of Henry Percy within the realm of England against the peace of the said late king ; to hold the said manor, which the said late king of his special grace granted to the said Geoffrey for life and which came to the king's hands by the death of Geoffrey, for 12 years, rendering for the said keeping the extent thereof, or as much as may be agreed upon between him and the treasurer by Michaelmas next; with clause touching maintenance of houses, enclosures and buildings, and support of charges: as William Bothe, clerk, to the end that the said Roger may have the keeping, has surrendered in the Chancery for cancellation the letters patent of 16 February the king committed the keeping of the said manor to him for 7 years, at a yearly farm of the extent thereof, or as much as might be agreed upon between him and the treasurer by Pentecost then next to come.
