Commitment to Geoffrey Stafford, canon of Ronton, by mainprise of John Landrake, Thomas Proucz, John Gambon and John Pasford of the county of Devon, of the keeping of the alien priory of Modbury, co. Devon, to hold the same during the war with France, rendering to the king yearly at the usual terms the 16 marks which has customarily been rendered for the priory from of old, and 2 marks of increment ; provided that he maintain divine service in the priory, pay tenths and other quotas with the clergy, maintain without waste and destruction the houses, buildings, enclosures, woods and gardens of the priory, and support all other charges thereon.
