Order to the justiciary of Ireland or his lieutenant to seize into the king's hand all lands and liberties granted in Ireland by Edward II and the king to any persons, so that answer be made for the issues thereof at the Exchequer of Dublin; warning all concerned that all grants made for true, just and reasonable causes, shall be renewed and all grants obtained by fraud and untrue suggestion shall be quashed ;_ many excessive grants of lands and liberties having been made by Edward IT and the king at the subtle and untrue suggestion of petitioners, extorted by the importunity of suppliants, of the merits of whom and of whose petitions the king has no knowledge ; wherefore, because it is just that a lying suitor should lack his desire, the king, by the council and assent of the learned men sitting with him, has altogether revoked all such grants made in Ireland by Edward II and the king until he be informed of the merits of the grantees and the causes and nature of the grants.
