Grant to the prior and convent of the abbey of Middelton, for 40 marks which they will pay at the Exchequer at the next voidance, that as soon as the abbey be void by the death, cession or resignation of Robert, now abbot, they have the guardianship of the temporalities thereof, if the voidance last a month or less, and if more, they shall pay at the rate of 40 marks a month; saving to the king knights fees, advowsons of churches, wards, marriages and. escheats.
