Order to the escheator on this side Trent, pursuant to an inquisition made by him shewing that William le Latimer the elder, deceased, held no lands in chief in his bailiwick except a moiety of the town of Corby with the hundred of Corby and a portion in Carleton, co. Northampton, which he held of the inheritance of Alice late his wife by the service of rendering 100s. yearly at the Exchequer by the hands of the sheriff of the county, and pursuant to an inquisition made by the escheator beyond Trent shewing that William held nothing of the king in his bailiwick whereby the keeping of his lands should pertain to the king, to retain in the king's hand the said moiety, hundred and portion, and to meddle no further with other lands late of William. 1.
