Order to the sheriff of Stafford to deliver to John le Mareschal, son and heir of William le Marescal, deceased, tenant in chief, 17s. 11d. of rent in Colton, which were taken into the hand of Henry II on account of trespasses charged to William at the time of the disorder in the realm, the ransom of which trespasses pertains to the king, after taking security from John for payment of the ransom due from him for five years (ad quinquennium) ; he having done homage for the lands late of his said father.
