. 93 Order to Salomon de Roffa and Master Thomas de Sodfington], after associating with themselves the sheriff of Wilts and receiving from the jurors of the assize of novel disseisin summoned between John de Cluniaco and Alan de Plugenet and taken at New Salisbury before the said Salomon and Thomas, justices assigned thereto, touching a tenement in Westharham, wherein the said jurors were convicted of a false oath by a jury of twenty-four knights summoned in like manner, a reasonable fine for their ransom and security for the payment thereof, to deliver the said jurors from the prison wherein they are detained by the sheriff and to restore their lands and chattels, and to certify the king of the sum of the said fine; the king having ordered the sheriff to be intendant to them herein. Be it remembered that on Friday after St. Scholastica the Virgin at Dover R. bishop of Bath and Wells, chancellor, crossed beyond seas, and the seal was then delivered in the king's wardrobe there under the seal of John de Kirkeby on whom the chancellor enjoined at his withdrawal that he should despatch the business of Chancery.
