Order to the escheator in the county of Bedford ; pursuant an inquisition made by him showing that one John Moubray and demised to William de Brewosa, for life, a third part the manor of Wotton together with the view of frankpledge to the said third part, both of tenants and residents the precinct of the manor, and with all liberties and profits to the view of frankpledge ; and that afterwards the John, by name of John Moubray lord of the Isle of by his charter dated the Sunday next after the feast St. Nicholas, 13 Edward II, granted the reversion of the said part and of the said view, by name of the reversion of all lands, rents and possessions and courts and suit of court with other profits and appurtenances which the said William then in Wotton for life of the demise of the said John, to Roger de and Sara his wife and the heirs of their bodies, to hold same of the said John and his heirs by service of a rose yearly, reversion (in default of such issue of the bodies of Roger Sara) to John and his heirs, by virtue of which grant William at Wotton to Roger and Sara; and that afterwards said William by his charter dated 2 January 13 Edward IT the said third part and view, by name of all the lands, possessions, woods, meadows, mills, feedings, pastures, wards, and reliefs which he had in Wotton by Kempston life of the demise of the said John, to the said Roger and Sara their heirs for term of his life, and afterwards died; by of which grants and attornment Roger and Sara were in their demesne as of fee tail; and that Roger and Sara issue, John and Alice, and died ; and that after their death said third part together with the view aforesaid descended the said John, as their son and heir, who was seised in his as of fee tail, and had issue Maud Dale, deceased, and and that the said third part and the view aforesaid to Maud as the daughter and heir of John son of Roger Sara, and she was seised in her demesne as of fee tail, and the said third part and view on the day of her death in aforesaid, to herself and the heirs of her body ; and that held on the day of her death, to herself and her heirs, acres of land in Suleshoo, a toft, 23 acres of land, 14 acres of and 12 acres 1 roods of pasture in Wotton, and the or patronage of the priory of Caldewell, co. Bedford ; that the said toft, land, meadow and pasture in Wotton are of the king in chief by service of a fiftieth part of a knight's and the said third part and the land in Suleshoo of others the king ; and that William Bosun son of John the son of the sister of John Middelton, otherwise called John Marchall, father of Maud and son of the said Roger and Sara, is Maud's kinsman and next heir (since Maud died without heir of her body), and of full age ; to cause the said William to have full seisin of the said third part, toft, land, meadow and pasture, as the king has taken the fealty due from him for the said toft, land, meadow and pasture in Wotton, and for 10s. paid in the hanaper has respited his homage until Midsummer next.
