Commitment to Thomas Parker, by mainprise of Robert 'Tiptot of the county of Salop and Nicholas Short of the county of Wilts, of the keeping of the priory of Carswell, otherwise called Carswall, in Wales ; to hold the same from Easter last for five years, during the war with France, rendering 15s. 4d. yearly, as the last farmers used to render, and an increment of 13s. 4d., at Michaelmas and Easter equally, provided always that if any other person, shall be willing without fraud to render more for the said keeping by Easter next, then the said Thomas shall render thereafter such larger sum for the same or be removed from the keeping at the will of the king ; with clause touching the finding of divine services, maintenance of buildings and support of charges.
